Fun times!

I can't remember when these pictures are from but I kept meaning to post them. Romney loves horses! My cousin has been training these horses and took us over to ride them. The kids loved it.

Jacob had a fun time but we discovered he is allergic to hay or something. The kids were climbing all over in some hay and throwing it around. Jacob's throat started getting itchy and burning and had some trouble breathing. He sneezes like crazy when the wind is blowing stuff around.

Two of my blessings

My two little one's were just being so cute and playing together so I just had to catch them on the camera.
Romney has such a wonderful giggle!

He's trying to tickle Rebekah in this one.

I love those beautiful big flowers on babies.

Finally an Update

We've had these pictures for awhile so I thought I should get around to posting them. As you can see they are well beyond the foundation. The plumbing is in and I met with the electrician today. The only thing we personally have left to do is pick out exterior paint colors. Yay! It has all been a bit more stressful than I had anticipated. There have been some major mistakes made but they have been very gracious about fixing them. A missing window, doorways in the wrong spots, some interior stuff completely miscommunicated, etc. We're still working on getting one last thing fixed. I just can't figure out why businesses don't return my calls. If I call first thing in the morning I expect a call before the end of the day. I certainly shouldn't have to call three days in a row or twice a day for two days. The electrical and plumbing supply company, KIE, has been terrible about this. Not good business. We of course expressed our displeasure to Olin Homes about them. Anyhow, here are the pictures!

So Fast!

Here is the completed foundation. We took this picture on June 1st.

Our family in front of our foundation.
Two days later here is the bottom floor framed and with exterior walls up. That went fast!

Moving Along

Our dirt has been dug up, moved around and piled. Ooh, it's so exciting. Next comes the foundation! I think our soon to be neighbors think we are a little strange stopping by every week taking pictures. :)

The Jenks' Dirt

If you thought this was going to be a really exciting post full of our deep, dark secrets you're wrong. :) It is really just about dirt. Our dirt. We are so excited to build our home so we are going to document each phase here on our blog. I'm not much of a traditional journal writer but I am willing to keep a blog for our family. We are very excited and want to remind ourselves how much the Lord has blessed us. We are so grateful and amazed at the opportunities the Lord has provided our family with.

I thought maybe this would be more interesting in a slide show. I don't think it worked. Dirt is dirt.

Mother's Day (a little late)

I'm a little late posting this which really shouldn't surprise anyone that knows me. I just wanted to thank my family for a lovely Mother's Day. Here is a picture of the "flowers" Paige picked and arranged for me. She also gave me some yummy chocolates. :) She also made a cute flower with hand print petals. It is kind of in the picture.
Jacob made me a colorful butterfly picture in art. Loved it! Joe also gave me chocolates (turtles, yum!). I actually had some self control and didn't eat it all in one day. After nursery Romney gave me a cute little bouquet of hand print flowers making the "I love you" sign. Adorable!

I love being a mom to Jacob because he is so helpful and I love it when he offers help without being asked.
I love being Paige's mom because she loves to make cards and surprises for me and express her love.
I love being Romney's mom especially when he wants to sit and cuddle with me. He's also a funny tease.
I love being a mom to Rebekah because she has unconditional love for me.
This is the cookie bouquet my kids decorated for Grandma Hull. The cookies got much larger than anticipated. The kids had a great time decorating them especially putting on sprinkles!
And really just so Nancy can see, these are the flowers I arranged for my mom from my sister Nancy. On the bottom is the corsage I made from the flowers the fell off. You can't really see it; I didn't actually intend to get it in the picture. :)
