K'nex Creation

Jacob was bored and decided to create something with his K'nex. He came up with this foosball game.

He created a little storage basket underneath to hold all the marbles.
Here's the thing to catch the marbles when someone scores and a sliding score keeper.
Pretty cool, Jacob. We have such a creative son.

New Hair!

Jacob got one of those squishy, air-filled balls from the dentist. It popped but we still had fun with it. We made it into crazy hair for Romney. I don't think he thought it was as funny as we did. Poor kid. He's just so complacent we get to try out these silly ideas.

Laughing and Talking

These are older pictures but I really wanted them on here. I took some photos of Rebekah one day back in November because I was frustrated that the photographer at JcPenney's couldn't get her to smile. This is my favorite one. And it didn't cost me ten dollars more to have it in sepia. Then I filmed her babbling. She really is quite the talker!

Picture Tag

I've been tagged. This sounds nice and easy but maybe a little scary. I am supposed to go to my 6th picture folder and then post the 6th picture along with the story. I haven't looked at it yet so here we go.Oh good it isn't a picture of me looking gross. You know those ones you want to delete but your husband won't let you. :) So this is a picture of my kids 2 Christmases ago. Romney of course wanted to run off. Jacob kept a good grip on him. Kids are difficult to photograph sometimes. We told the older ones to keep looking at the camera while we tried to get Romney's attention. Jacob and Paige just had to look at Romney to check if he was smiling. They all seem to be looking in different directions. Maybe too many people behind the camera.

Here are the rules:
Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
1. Pick the 6th Folder, then select the the 6th picture in that folder.
2. Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture.
3. Tag 6 other people that you know or don't know to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog or an e-mail letting them know you chose them.

I tag: Amy Helm, Karyn, Carolyn, Heather, Mom, Clare

Paige's Holiday Concert

Due to bad weather Paige's holiday concert was rescheduled to January. We got to hear fun Christmas music after the holidays were over. Here is a video of the just 12th day of Christmas (don't worry I wouldn't record all 12 of them). She had been practicing this song all throughout December. She was so excited and a little nervous to get all dressed up and perform. Paige is getting less shy and more confident. It is so great to see her grow. She did great and we had fun watching her and participating in the sing-along afterward!

New Year's In Idaho

The Monday following Christmas we head to Idaho to visit Joseph's family. We were glad we got to see so many of them. We were afraid they might be headed back home before we arrived. Thanks for hanging around a little longer! They even waited for us before doing the family gift exchange. Thank you. You all are so thoughtful. We had a great time visiting and eating fantastic food. There was so much of it. We played games and rang in the New Year with much pomp and ceremony. Well, actually we played games and snacked until midnight then opened up the front door to let in the new year and smooched our honeys. :-) I've included pictures of some of the kids making a gingerbread house. We bought it before Christmas but never got around to making it. So, we brought it with us. It didn't taste very good. It has sort of a rancid flavor and tasted like too much cinnamon and not gingerbreadish at all. I guess that's what we get for buying a premade one. That's okay. The kids managed to devour all the candy from it moments after the pictures were taken. They enjoyed making and eating it!

We're back online!

I haven't been able to add anything to my blog because our internet has not been working. When we came home from Idaho on the 5th our phone (which goes through our DSL line) was not working and two days later our internet went down. After two very long phone calls, disagreeing with customer service and asking to speak with a manager we finally got somewhere. Although verizon insisted our router was defective and said we would have to buy a new one. Joe informed them we were not going to pay for their defective router, especially since he wasn't convinced that was the problem. So, they sent a router for free, we hooked it up and what do you know it wasn't the router but the DSL line that was not working. So, we had to wait for a tech guy to come out today. He was great and knowledgeable and we are back online. He filled me in on the fact that the customer service people on the phone don't really have a clue. Yah, we figured that one out. Anyhow on to our updates.
So we got some wonderful snow and Joe went sledding with the kids on Carmicheal hill. I wore Rebekah in the baby carrier and just took pictures. The more kids I have the more of a chicken I become. They had a ton of fun. But it was pretty cold and they didn't stay too long.
Romney just wanted to keep going. Of course he got to ride in the sled back up the hill. Romney was so upset when they would go down with out him and tried to run after them in one of these pictures. It was pretty slick and I was afraid he would go right down without a sled and get hurt.
I just thought I would throw this one in because Rebekah looks so cute all dressed up for Christmas! The next set are pictures from Christmas morning. We all went to my parent's house to open presents and have a yummy breakfast. We had a very full house and tons of fun. We also had a ton of wrapping paper and boxes when we were finished too.
Paige actually built the fire truck for Romney at Home Depot. I thought that was pretty cool. Jacob was excited to get a cartooning book. He is always drawing and said after just a couple days that it is already helping him draw even better.

Romney loves his Cars racetrack he got from his grandparents. Here is a video of his reation. It takes a little bit to get it so just watch all the way through.

Wow this is long and I still have more. I'll have to finish up another time. I'm sure you're all relieved.
